How to Get Your Interactive Brokers Referral Code

1. Log In to Your IBKR Account

   Go to the Interactive Brokers website and log in to your client portal.

2. Navigate to the Referral Section

   Click the user menu icon (head and shoulders icon) at the top right corner.

   Option 1: Select Refer a Friend, Get $200 to get the affiliate link

   Option 2: Select Settings > Account Settings > All Account Settings > Refer a Friend to get the affiliate link

3. Get Your Unique Referral Link

   Your unique referral link will be displayed in the referral section. This link contains your referral code embedded in it.

4. Copy and Share Your Referral Link

   Copy the referral link and share it with friends or potential new clients.

How the IBKR Referral Program Works

• When your referred friend opens a new account using your referral link, deposits at least $10,000 within 30 days, and maintains that balance for one year, you earn a $200 referral bonus 5.
• The referred friend can earn up to $1,000 worth of IBKR stock as a sign-up bonus, proportional to their deposit amount (e.g., $1 of stock per $100 deposited, max $1,000) 36.
• The gifted IBKR stock cannot be sold until after one year but the value adjusts daily based on the account balance 6.

Additional Important Details

• Eligibility to refer requires you to have an IBKR account with at least $2,000 net liquidation value and at least one securities trade placed5.
• You can refer up to 15 new clients per year and 30 in total over your lifetime5.
• Referrals cannot be family members or people living at the same address.
• Residents of Japan, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Poland, and Israel are excluded from the program57.
• You must use the referral link to open the account; the referral code cannot be manually added later8.

This referral process is done through the IBKR client portal and website. Sharing your unique referral link is the key to earning referral bonuses and enabling your friends to get sign-up rewards.
