Why Binance:

How to deposit USDT into Binance from external USDT wallet: USDT(external) β†’ USDT(exchange)

Download Binance (if you do not have) from the Google Play store, Register and verify.

Setting up the Binance App for new users

Step 1: Click the Binance profile icon at the top left (i.e. The Yellow icon as shown below)

Step 2: At the bottom, Select BINANCE Pro to switch to Pro mode from Lite mode.

Step A: Create USDT Wallet in Binance

Pre-requisite: Log in to the platform where you want to send crypto from and verify the network protocol that it uses to send.

  1. Go to β€œAssets” (Located at the bottom)
  2. Select β€œFunding” or β€œSpot” > Select β€œAdd funds”
  3. Select Deposit Method β€œOn-Chain Deposit”
  4. Search for β€œUSDT” in the Select Coin step
  5. In Choose Network, select the appropriate network protocol as applicable to the sending platform e.g. β€œEthereum (ERC20)” or β€œTron (TRC20)”
  6. In the Deposit USDT dialog box, copy β€œDeposit address”, by selecting copy right next to it

Stage B: Withdraw crypto from external wallet i.e. deposit into Binance

  1. Login into the external platform
  2. Go to Withdraw or Send as may apply on the respective platform
  3. Paste the USDT Deposit Address as copied from Binance as the recipient/beneficiary field
  4. Enter the AmountΒ to withdraw
  5. Ensure the sending network protocol is the same as the receiving deposit address network protocol to avoid losing money.
  6. Select Withdraw (i.e. authorize withdrawal as may apply)

  1. Copy-and-paste the correct deposit address to avoid sending to the wrong wallet which may lead to loss of funds. Duly note that crypto transactions cannot be reversed hence sending them to the wrong wallet will lead to a total loss of funds.
  2. Ensure to select the correct network protocol e.g. TRC20, ERC20 to avoid losing funds
  3. Test with a small amount, if it’s the first time you are doing this
  4. In summary the transaction flow looks like this for USDT(external) β†’ USDT(exchange):
    1. USDT-TRC20 (external wallet sending) β†’ TRC20 (network protocol) β†’ USDT-TRC20 (deposit address in exchange receiving)
    2. USDT-ERC20 (external wallet sending) β†’ ERC20 (network protocol) β†’ USDT-ERC20 (deposit address in exchange receiving) </aside>
